Portfolio Update! – DanceFight

November 10th, 2020 – Birmingham, Michigan – CitySide Ventures and Birmingham Angels announces adding DanceFight to its portfolio of companies.

Birmingham Angels, a City Side’s Angels syndicate of angel investors, just closed a seed round investment in Dance Fight.

DanceFight is the first mobile competition platform offering patent-pending head-to-head video competition. While the initial focus of the brand and content is on dance, the platform will quickly evolve to support all kinds of competition content ranging from action sports to singing, from comedy routines to cheerleading, and wherever Gen-Z’s creativity and competitive spirit wants to take it.

To reiterate from the “Our Vision” section, we also want to reinforce that we will achieve this while creating a safe and inclusive environment for our community of users. To that end, DanceFight has also opted to exclude features where bullying typically occurs, like commenting and direct messaging. This is consistent with the company’s long term vision to reduce the potential for harassment of community members. Dance Fight has partnered with artificial intelligence company Hive.ai whose leading-edge content moderation platform has been integrated to black any inappropriate content from going live on the app.
